October 1st is the day of East
Turkistan Republic was invaded by Chinese communist
government and day of Uyghurs lost their independence
and sovereignty. Since then, Uyghurs are suffering under
the Chinese colonial regime. In order to protest
colonialism and China’s brutal persecution against
Uyghurs in East Turkistan since 1949, to protest ongoing
crackdown on July 5th unrest in East Turkistan, Uyghur
Canadians protested front of the Chinese consulate,
demand Chinese government to recognize the failure of
its policy and communist system. Stop arbitrary mass
arrest, torture and killings of Uyghurs, stop further
crackdown with the excuse of 60th anniversary of PRC.
Later afternoon, protesters marched downtown area
in Toronto
expressed deep mourning for massacred Uyghurs in East
Turkistan under China’s 60 years colonial rule and call
world community not to be silent for China’s evil
regime.
